I can’t remember the last time I went swimming, unless you count bobbing around in the water when I was learning to surf. After waking up with a pain in my right calf from the run the night before, I decided swimming might ease it.
I’m a breast stroke kinda gal, but I’d forgotten how much it works your arms and back. I could really feel it in my shoulder blades.
I managed 40 lengths, which is 1km. I think I’m going to intersperse swimming with running from now on and try and increase my distance and time on both.
Maindy pool, where I swim though, isn’t the best. There were a lot if screaming kids, which seemed to be the theme of yesterday and the lifeguards kept switching the lanes around, which was kind of frustrating.
Anyway, the swim felt good and I’m glad I enjoyed it so I can do it on my non-running days.
