AW11: Firetrap’s Collection

Firetrap have already released a few snaps of their AW11 collection, fronted by singer Sunday Girl. Slightly veering away from the colour palette I’m predicting, they’ve thrown in some inky purples and deep blues, along with industrial looking greys. The colours mirror those that your find reflecting in petrol and I really adore these dark, moody tones.

Firetrap’s textures are also varied with dark leathers contrasting light sheepskin and denims with a slight sheen

Not all of their range is available yet, but they do have items on sale.  So, what could you be buying now to take you through the winter months and beyond? Below I have listed some items that you can buy now and you’ll be wearing them all the way through to next summer.

Stella Cowl Neck Back Wing Jumper
Stella(h2)
Lt Grey Marl (Grey)
Cowl Neck Batwing Jumper
£65.00

How amazing does it feel when you can get back in to chunky knitwear in the Autumn? This jumper is a take on the classic funnel neck, with button detailing on the arm and neck. I think this could be a staple for years to come. Also available in black.

Plunge Distressed Striped Dress Firetrap
Plunge Distressed Dress
Lt Grey Marl (Grey)
Women’s Print Dress
£35.00

I think this dress is fantastic. While it doesn’t necessarily fit with this season’s colours I think you could pair it with some maroon or mustard (if you’re feeling a little braver) tights and maybe a navy scarf and biker boots to make it current. Black tights and heels will make it an easy transition for the evening. The stripes give it a nautical feel, which is consistently a key Spring/Summer look year on year.

This dress really is a bargain and at £35.00 you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. You could even team it with this item…

Stuka Leather Panelled Bomber Jacket Firetrap
Stuka(h1)
Cocoa (Brown)
Leather Panelled Bomber Jacket
£250.00

OK, I get that this item is a little pricey, but I do think it’s incredibly versatile; see it as an investment. Firetrap have a few bomber jackets in their collection at the moment, but I think you’ll get the most wear out of this one. The deep chocolate brown means you’ll be able to wear it with most outfits, but the reason I chose this item over the other jackets was based on the zip. Whilst it is asymmetric, which I love, the zip isn’t positioned too far off centre, meaning that it you wear this open, it won’t hang at an odd angle, but if you wear it partially zipped up the collar should fold over quite nicely. This jacket won’t just get you through a couple of seasons, I imagine you’ll be wearing this for years. Just think about the cost per wear!

Women's Twisted Vest Top Firetrap
Tank(h1)
Berry (Red)
Women’s Twisted Vest Top
£40.00

This top is available in both black and berry, but my preference would be berry. You need that deep splash of colour for winter and this is going to add that to your work attire or your casual wardrobe. The ruching will be really flattering for most figures and add some texture. I’d wear this with black trousers or a skirt for work and then with dark denim and nude shoes for the weekend.

Ironcuff Firetrap Heels
Ironcuff
Brown (Brown)
Women’s High Heels
£90.00 £27.00-£45.00

And finally, shoes! Now, these are on sale, but the Firetrap website only have them in a size 3, so if you’re slight of foot, I’d checkout on these boots ASAP. I wouldn’t normally pick these because I’d look at them and assume I’d hardly wear them, but think again. You could pair these with skinny jeans or a skirt/dress. Then you have the option of changing them up by varying your toe nail varnish or wearing coloured tights. Coloured tights being a trend which I think will return this season, specifically maroon/burgundy in colour.

If you’re not a size 3, have a scout around the Internet and see if you can find these shoes elsewhere.

Firetrap have also offered up some sneaky peeks at their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. You can’t see much from the photos. I’m dubious about the matching pastels.

So, what do you think? Will any of these items be featured in your AW11 wardrobe? Let me know below…
